Carnival of the Animals

3/10/2015

Country Oaks Kindergarten students have spent three weeks listening and moving to the songs from Camille Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals". We played along with rhythm sticks, moved with scarves, colored pictures while listening to the "Aquarium", counted the donkeys braying, and had fun discovering this musical suite. Ask your child to show you the movements to the "Lion" or "Hens and Rooster" song, count the braying of the donkeys with them, or see if you can discover "Twinkle, twinkle" during the "Fossils".  At the end, we analyzed the "Finale" and then watched the short Fantasia movie clip shown here.

I love teaching music! I love to make students aware of different kinds of music and open the door to new wolds...
