Spring Mills Voices

Spring Mills Voices 2021-2022

MPC Presents...

Picture
Half of our Spring Mills Voices choir participated spontaneously at a concert at the Presbyterian Church in Milford. They did a fabulous job singing their Veterans Day song in front of a packed audience!

Veterans Day Song

We recorded the Veterans Day Song just in time to be able to share it with the veterans and families in our community. I received lots of positive feedback from veterans and gratitude for our gesture.

Veterans Day Song and Highland Tree Lighting

We are off to a fabulous start in our Spring Mills Voices Recess Choir! The students sound amazing and are really enjoying singing together. My favorite comment was after the second rehearsal when somebody said "We sound like a REAL choir!"
We are practicing a song that we will record for Veterans Day and share it with our veterans.

The Highland Tree Lighting will take place on December 13 at 7pm at the Highland Fire Station, close to Highland Elementary School. More information to follow.

October 2021

In the past few weeks, I have had quite a few students ask me, if there will be a choir this year or if there will be some kind of performances. Once we moved to the rotation schedule a few years back, we lost the Performing Arts block. I miss the concerts and I believe it's an important part of music education for my students and important for our community. Spring Mills has always been part of the Highland Tree Lighting and I want this tradition to continue.
I will offer to interested 4th and 5th graders to join the choir Spring Mills Voices on A days during their recess time. A letter will come home this week, where students will need to make a commitment and parents need to sign the permission slip. The goal will be a performance at the Highland Tree Lighting and maybe also one for the Spring Mills staff and students before Christmas break. Let's keep the Performing Arts alive!

Spring Mills Voices at the American House

On May 21, our Spring Mills Voices had a concert at the American House in Milford in honor of Memorial Day. I was extremely proud of my students! Their sound was absolutely beautiful and everybody in the room could tell with how much excitement and joy they were performing. The guests from the retirement community were very appreciative and it was an amazing experience to sing in front of so many family members. There were many tears during our concert and a standing ovation at the end. Thank you for making this after school choir such a wonderful experience!

Spring Mills Voices at Prayer Breakfast

Spring Mills was beautifully represented by our Spring Mills Voices at the Interdenominational Prayer Breakfast on May 3rd at the Church of Holy Spirit. The students did an amazing job after just a few rehearsals. They impressed many guests at the breakfast with their sweet sound. It was wonderful to hear our students sing together with the High School Choir from Milford High School.

Spring Mills Voices 2017-2018

Spring Mills Voices is an after-school choir that I had the pleasure to work with for the eight weeks leading up to our December concerts. This was offered through the Huron Valley Recreation department. 22 Students stayed on Mondays after school and worked hard, learning songs, solos, harmony, and choreography. They did a fantastic job representing Spring Mills at the Highland Tree Lighting. Our soloists were the stars at the Holiday of the Arts program at Lakeland High School. And the choir presented their songs to the whole school in an assembly yesterday, where they also led the school-wide sing-along. This group of students had a lot of energy, amazing voices, and was a lot of fun to work with!
